Vacations in Aosta Valley – Typical restaurant
Restaurant La Gran Becca
The
restaurant "la Gran Becca" in Antey St. Andre'
(Ao), distant a few km from Saint Vincent, and at the foot of the majestic
Matterhorn, is a typical restaurant, true to the local architecture.
Inside, a nice environment offers 30
places to table and further 40 in the tavern.
In the external area, a large garden
surrounded by flowers and trees, is the best to have dinner immersed
in the green space and then to relax on comfortable deck-chairs at the
Matterhorn’s shade, or for a romantic supper by candle-light.
The cuisine is inspired by the peasant
tradition of the Aosta Valley and Canavese.
Dishes as “Polenta taragna”
with game meat, fresh pasta with hare sauce or “porcini”
mushrooms, salt meat as “boudin”, “salsiccetta di
cinghiale”, “motzetta”, “jambon de bosses”,
“lardo D'Arnad”, “coppa al ginepro”, are the
prelude to the degustation of herb or seasoned cheese and “fontina”,
to be coupled with pear sauce with mustard.
Dishes of learnedly grilled meat, “cervo
in civet”, “bistecca valdostana”, “bollito”,
“bagna caoda”, “tomini freschi”.
